DCBC Suspends Newly Issued French Certifications for Crossover
DCBC has suspended mutual recognition of French certificates issued after 14 June 2024 for crossover applications.
During the IDRCF (International Diving Regulators and Certifiers Forum) meeting in Switzerland in October 2024, of which DCBC is a founding member, the decision was made to suspend French membership. As a result, DCBC will no longer accept French certifications for direct crossover applications. Training certificates issued after the cut-off date of June 14, 2024 will not be accepted.
This applies to holders from any of the French occupational diving schools. Certificates issued before the cut off date may still be eligible for crossover, provided the veracity of the certificate can be verified appropriately from a centralized and independent point of contact in France.
French divers with certifications issued after the 14th of June 2024 may still be eligible for a PLAR (Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition) in order to gain DCBC certification. More information on the Assessment process can be found on the Assessment (PLAR) page on the DCBC website.
If you would like more information on this matter, please contact Tracy Childs, Chief Executive Officer (tchilds@divercertification.

IDRCF Closed Bell Diver Training V1.1
The members of the IDRCF have reviewed, modified, and consolidated their individual standards for Closed Bell Diver Training. Subsequently, each member adopted the requirements of the IDRCF consolidated standard into their own standards.
Canada adopted the requirements of the IDRCF consolidated standard into the latest draft of the CSA Competency Standard for diving, hyperbaric chamber and remotely operated vehicles operations (Z275.4:22).
